favorite things to do on a rainy day

i have always been fascinated with the paranormal, and with ghosts in particular.
when i was a child this fascination bordered on obsession. i would spend hours in the library reading ghost stories (fiction and non-fiction) i can recall one afternoon when i was in absolute rapture because it was pouring outside. the library had these huge windows...in fact, one whole wall was comprised of glass, and i had my chair facing it. also, the place was nearly empty so it was extremely quiet (even quieter than usual in a library)
reading ghost stories has remained one of my favorite activities when it is raining.
what do you guys like to do?

beach on a rainy day

a few days ago, my friend called me up and invited me to the beach. i looked out my window and realized the sky was really grey, and we would definitely be in for some rainy weather. so i said "hell yeah!"
it began to sprinkle as we looked for parking. people were leaving the beach as fast as their legs could carry them just as we were arriving.
when we got to the sand, we considered laying our towels down but realized that would be stupid, so we put them back in the car. by this time it was getting cold, and it took the three of us daring each other to get into the water for us to get in the water. after a minute or so the water felt warm, and then it really started raining. the rain was cold. it felt lovely. it was a total sensory experience.
when we finally got out we were absolutely freezing. i was remnided of those people...the polar bears? the ones who go swimming in icy water because it makes them feel alive. i started wondering why people have to be warm and dry and comfortable at all times.
anyways, just wanted to share.
